Claim Boundary Amendments

Amendments to the claim boundary were proposed by Queensland South Native Title Services who commissioned anthropological research to define the area that the Darumbal people occupied traditionally.  The amended boundary was part of the Interlocutory Application lodged with the Federal Court on 26 July 2012.  This means that there is a parcel of land that is a “shared area” with the neighbouring Yetimarala.

Amends to the July 2012 Claim Application

An amended claim application was lodged in July 2012 and was recently registered on 23 November 2012.  The amendments corrected some glitches with the claim and as a consequence the Darumbal Native Title Claim is now in an enhanced position to achieve the ultimate goal of Native Title Determination.
